| With over a 100 years of excellence in the historical Maxvorstadt district the Carlton is one the oldest hotel institutions in Munich. The Astoria Hotel management and entire staff moved in early 2009 from the Nikolaistraße to the Fürstenstraße, our new Home. Renamed the Carlton Astoria, we will breathe new life into this hotel while maintaining its tradition of excellence. We chose this name in order to underline, throughout the renewal, the continued warm atmosphere and personal attention that greeted each guest of the old Astoria and built our reputation over 21 years. We are carrying out a general renovation of the hotel, restoring and furnishing it with painstaking attention to every detail. We aim to reach a balance between functional and elegant design in harmony with the beautifully aged building. We are creating a jewel of a hotel at a stone’s throw to the most important museums and a moment’s walk from the city centre.
